Hamir Mir is recognised as one of Pakistan’s finest journalists. He comes from a family of journalists and began his career as a journalist for several Pakistani publications. According to Hamid Mir’s biography, he has interviewed many famous people, including Osama bin Laden, Shah Rukh Khan, Hillary Clinton, Colin Powell, Shimon Peres, John Kerry, Tony Blair, and Nelson Mandela.
Hamid Mir’s list of honours is quite extensive. In 2012, he received the Hilal-i-Imtiaz, Pakistan’s second highest civilian honour. He won the Free Press Award in the category of “Most Resilient Journalist” in 2016. The next year, he received the lifetime achievement award from former Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali.
